VIRTUAL CLASSES THIS COMING WEEK JAN 10-14
Due to staffing shortage and the widespread of COVID in our staff and student body, we will be having one week of Virtual Learning next week. Our goal is to rest, get well, and be back in action the following week. We understand through correspondence with our medical team that the numbers may rise again once we are back at school, but we are looking to be back in-class after next week for the benefit of the students. After the experience of the long shutdown we had last year, we know the value of being in-school and will do all we can to keep virtual learning to as short an amount of time as possible.
ALL SCHOOL RELATED EVENT CANCELED THIS COMING WEEK JAN 10-14
This includes all sports practices and games, which we will try to reschedule for a later date. Our Ecuador Information Meeting is also being rescheduled for Saturday, January15th in the school sanctuary from 7-8 pm. Ecuador team: please be looking for deadline information for your DEPOSITS for your refundable airline tickets, coming soon via email! This was to be shared during Tuesday's Information Meeting, but due to cancellation, will come via email. Anyone who has ordered lunches for this coming week will have the credit applied to their snack card account.
COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR SCHOOL
Your teachers will be in communication with you! 5-12th, use Google Classrooms to find all your assignments. 5th-12th grade teachers may be providing several Google Meets this week. STAY TUNED FOR YOUR GOOGLE MEET SCHEDULES FOR EACH GRADE by the end of the weekend. Elementary families, look for an email with instructions on how to get a hold of your student's packets, either digitally or on paper. Please reach out to Mrs. Girling if you need help!
SLOWING DOWN THE PACE
This week, as we know from experience, we will not be moving along at our usual pace with lesson plans. Please create good learning spaces at home for the kids, check on them, and anytime, check in with your teachers too!
BE GOOD TO YOURSELF AND HAVE GRACE FOR TEACHERS
If you recall from last year, virtual school is far more demanding of your time than in-class school. The expectation of going to all classes every day during regularly scheduled times is not realistic and will overwhelm our students. Also, quite a few teachers are ill right now, and they might not be providing Google Meets. They will simply post assignments and communicate with your student through the Google Classrooms to the best of their ability. But please REST, PRAY FOR US ALL, and hope to return in good spirits next week!
